(1) Wood burns quickly in the firebox with high flue gas temperatures, the burning gases pass up through the throat of the fireplace.

(2) The flue gases are then guided out and down into the side channels, where the heat is retained by the exterior and interior stones before passing into the chimney.

(3) Radiant heat from the outer stones, create a gentle warmth like the sun, providing even heat throughout the living space, without creating drafts or drying the air.

(4) The interior stones of the fireplace are cut across the grain, making them able to withstand very high temperatures.

(5) The exterior stones are cut along the grain, allowing them to radiate heat evenly into the room.

(6) Models may be top vented, bottom vented or side vented to provide flexibility of design in your space.



(7) Once the fireplace has warmed up and the fire has gone out, the damper and ash door are closed in order to prevent the stored heat from escaping up through the chimney.

(8) Air flow into the fireplace is regulated by a control on the ash door.

(9) Ash deposits are minimal and can be removed cleanly and easily in the covered removable ash pan.

(10) Patented air wash system keeps the glass door clear and free of soot.

(11) Electric heating components may be added to side channels to provide automatic back-up heat.

(12) The fireplace must be built on fireproof material. UL-approved heat shields are available which can reduce clearances from combustibles to 3 inches.

(13) The fireplace must have a foundation or an engineered floor system designed to support it's weight and the weight of the chimney.
